Gary Horner
Gary was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 1971. As a child he grew up in Zambia where the sights on the African savannah presented him with a love for the outdoors and the opportunity to try his hand at photography. It was this passion for the outdoors that led to Gary spending the summer months exploring the Norfolk Broads and East Anglia Coastline when he returned to the UK in 1984. Having rekindled his love for photography three years ago this knowledge of the local area and his fondness of the outdoors has given Gary the opportunity to capture the stunning rural landscape scenes of the East Anglia Broads & Coastline.
The majority of his landscapes are taken at either dawn or dusk. The light and tones are often mesmerising with the countryside taking on that magical appearance that can not be replicated at any other time of the day.
Gary sees his photography as a way in which he can assist in preserving every day images of Norfolk and Suffolk, showing the picturesque natural beauty of the area for future generations. His work has been showcased in numerous national magazines and his images have won Editors Choice twice in Amateur Photographer Magazine. Five of Gary's images are currently scheduled to appear in 2011 local landscape calendars.
